Benelux Chamber Young Professionals Event Attracts Shanghai Media
Last Friday, the Benelux Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China, FinnCham and the Malaysian Chamber of commerce in China, hosted the 2nd volume of the “InterChamber Young Professionals” Mixer at The Fire Rooftop.
As we see the number of international young professionals growing day by day, it is crucial that we keep actively supporting this emerging group.
During the evening, our Deputy General Manager Jonathan Xu shared that the global community of expats and international young professionals abroad is actually at an all-time high.
“According to sources, in mid-2024, around 300 million people were living outside their birth country (about 3.7% of the world’s population). Half of them moved for career-related reasons.”
The goals of our event ?
· Network and make new connections!
· Unwind after the week in a stunning venue facing a 16th-century temple!
· Win amazing prizes through our lucky draw raffle!
A huge thank you to our sponsors for making this night even more special: MUTE Garage Belgium, Juneyao Airlines Co., Ltd., Dutch Pies Shanghai, Loop Earplugs, Shanghai Daily, City News Service, and of course, The Fire Rooftop Bar.
This event holds a special place in our hearts at the Benelux Chamber of Commerce, since we understand the challenges that come with starting a new career abroad. With over 180 company members at our Chamber, we see people come and go every day, as was also pointed out by our Chamber's Marketing Manager Kim Steen.
This includes the excitement, the struggles, the ups and downs, etc. As we aim to be an institution of continuous support to our Benelux companies, we aim to constantly connect people, organize content driven events and foster strong collaborations while expanding the community. Networking equals to one important effect: OPPORTUNITY.
According to HR experts, about 85% of jobs are filled through networking, and nearly 80% of professionals say networking is key to career success? In other words, most new opportunities come from who you know. At an event like this, every handshake or friendly chat could be the start of a next big opportunity.
Stay tuned for our next young professional’s mixer at the end of May!
